I have recently been inspired lately by other blogs and website I’m addicted to, to keep my camera handy at all times. I’ve noticed heaps of times during the day when a photographic moment fly by. But my standard camera case is really bulky, and my handbag is not so accommodating. So I decided to crochet a case for myself.
Just so you all know, the camera is a pentax optio s45. As it is somewhat impossible to take a picture of the camera with just the one camera, you’ll have to imagine it in the case, Hehe. If your camera is thinner, wider, longer, etc, etc, you will have to make adjustments. The beauty about this pattern is there is no penalties for shortening or lengthening the number of stitches.
You will need:
- 3mm crochet hook
- 50g main colour (honestly, remnants will do)
- scraps of contrast colour (if you want to make a design on it)
rw1) ch34
rw2) sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across, turn
rw3) ch3, *dc in next st, ch1, sk next st*, repeat * to* across

rw4) repeat line 3 another 33 times

rw37) ch1, sl st across
To finish, sl st down one of the open sides and turn inside out.

Now you have a camera case! You can jazz it up any way you like now. I chose to do some basic wool embroidery (note: I am still not very good at it)
This side I did my surname in runic, with a small flower

And this side I just did a very basic daisy

What do you think? Kinda cute isn’t it?
