I’ve been working on a few items for winter. Even in subtropical Brisbane, it gets more than a little chilly. Last year we had –3 Celsius. Now I am originally from Canada, so that shouldn’t bother me at all. But I have acclimatised. I have adjusted, and now I find it really REALLY cold in the winter!
I am working on hats for the family at the moment. The hat patterns will be for sale soon. I will post a link to those when I finish them. However I’ll be putting up a few pieces I’ve made in the “winter collection” for free. This scarf is one of them.
This would have to be the easiest pattern I’ve ever crocheted. You use one stitch the whole way through. Just one. That’s it!
The great thing about this pattern is you can make the scarf as long or as short as you want. If you need the scarf a little wider, simply make a longer starting chain, there are no penalties for changing the number of chains.
If you need a tutorial on how to do crochet stitches, this page from Top Crocheting has illustrated instructions.
You will need:
approx 50-80g of 8ply yarn
size 6mm hook
ch=chain stitch, sc=single crochet, sl st=slip stitch
ch14
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across, ch1, turn.
Row 2—100: sc in next sc, sc across, ch1, turn.
Row 101: sl st in 1st sc, sl st across, fasten off.
How easy is that?
